My Approach to Therapy

You already have the ability to create a life you want to live, you just need help getting there. While I don't own any magic wands, I do promise you will feel comfortable, supported, heard and understood. You will have therapy that fits you and your goals (CBT, DBT, EMDR, etc.), and you will be challenged. You CAN and WILL meet your goals. There will be no stuffy office space, writing notes under the gaze of judging eyes, or a long couch...promise! Give me a call today, for your free 15-minute phone consultation. I look forward to supporting you in becoming the best version of yourself.

My specializations include addiction (through a mental health lens), trauma, and general chaos. I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist, and passionate in helping you gain emotional freedom within your life. Within each session, I bring over fifteen years experience and education. I fully understand how hard it can be to multitask between work, life, family, mental health, relationships, kids, pets and self care. I am incredibly grateful that I can help you make your life more manageable. Over time, I’ve also gained significant experience in Veteran counseling. Being a military veteran myself provides immeasurable value and understanding to those relationships.

Who am I?

I grew up in Minnesota, and then moved to California after my military deployment.  My two kiddos are absolutely amazing (and simultaneously drive me crazy), and am blessed with an extended blended family. Helping others, social justice, veterans’ issues, and women’s issues are some of my passions. While leadership and professionalism are important to me, so are sarcasm and dry humor. I obtained my Bachelors and Master’s in Social work from California State University. Since, I have gained experience in a variety of settings (county mental health, substance abuse treatment, a non profit with probation and foster youth, hospice patients, and even in an elementary school).  Parks and Rec reruns, serial killer crime dramas, and movies are some of the things I enjoy in my free time. I look forward to connecting with you, laughing, working hard, and supporting you through life’s difficulties. I will ensure you feel at home, provide unconditional support (and some gentle challenging!). There will be no stuffy office space, writing notes under the gaze of judgey eyes, or a long couch. I promise! *I am a committed advocate for disenfranchised groups and an ally to all.
